Employers can demonstrate their commitment to a harassment-free workplace in a variety of ways including providing information and training about preventing harassment.
When developing a Harassment Prevention Policy employers must consult with their workplace’s Occupational Health and Safety Committee or Representative. If the workplace does not have one the employer must consult directly with the workers.
Employers are required by The Saskatchewan Employment Act to have a Harassment Prevention Policy which must contain certain provisions.
Employers do not just need to have a Harassment Prevention Policy - they must use it to prevent harassment and deal with harassment when it occurs.
Our newest project is designed to provide legal information for Indigenous communities through a dedicated website, indigenous.plea.org, and print material. All is available free of charge.
