GOALS

After completing this module you will understand:

  • Investigations into harassment complaints and people’s rights during investigations.
  • What happens after an investigation if there is no finding of harassment and if there is a finding of harassment.
  • The prohibition against any reprisal or retaliation against someone who makes a complaint and what to do if this has happened.

Investigation Process

This section outlines the process for an investigation into workplace harassment.

Rights During an Investigation

Both the complainant and the alleged harasser have certain rights when there is an investigation about harassment in the workplace.

After the Investigation

This section outlines the obligations of employers when an investigation is complete.

Reprisal and Retaliation

Employers cannot take any action against a worker for making a harassment complaint and they need to protect workers from retaliation by others in the workplace.
