The employer, employees and any person the employer designates to receive complaints about workplace violence or harassment must take training about harassment and violence in the workplace.
The employer and their partner must review the training at least once every 3 years and update if necessary. It must also be reviewed anytime there is a change to any part of the training.
The training can be developed by the employer and their partner. The employer and their partner can also identify an existing training tool to use.
The training must be specific to the culture, conditions and activities of the workplace and include the following elements:
Employers need to take the training once every 3 years. A person designated to receive complaints must take the training before they start receiving complaints and every 3 years after that.
Employees need to take the training within 3 months of being hired and then once every 3 years. They also need to take the training if it is updated or their assignment changes and that change means there is an increased or specific risk of workplace harassment or violence.
